Surrounding Ljubljana, this path combines devotion to a healthy lifestyle and preservation of historic memories. It is in its essence a recreational path of 35 km. It lays on the exact location where in Wold War II. Ljubljana was surrounded by a military blockage with a barbed wire. Pot ob žici or Path along the wire, as people like to call it, is mostly gravel and meant for walking, running or driving a bike. A hike along the path is traditionally organised every year on the 9th of May, with a celebration in the city centre. A walk with your dog along the Path of Remembrance is not only a nice recreation for both, but also a lesson on the city’s history.
